The shipment for this year's fall cover crop seed blend from Green Cover is on its way. Take advantage of the bulk shipment to Wilson Creek and place your order before the July 13th deadline. Calculations will be provided based on the number of acres you have. This year, we will be offering two choices of seed blends: 1) A fast-sprouting erosion control mix and 2) a high-biomass multi-species blend, which is crop-appropriate for most vineyards, including grazing. For people who have never had cover crop, we recommend the fast-sprouting erosion control mix. To place your order, fill out the Google form at the link below. After the deadline, give us a few days to calculate the amount of cover crop needed to adequately cover your total acreage and areas under the vine. The general rule with disking/broadcasting method (unless you are drilling) is that you'll need 40% more to achieve adequate coverage.

Kathleen Dowling presented to the group at our May meeting on the benefits of incorporating Regenerative Agriculture practices for Southern CA grape growers. She compared different methods (conventional, organic, and regenerative) and provided a cost-benefit analysis for each.
